Our Charity Work
Our businesses raise money everyday of the week for our Charities. These are organisations that mean a lot to us and we have chosen to help them in our own way.
Traditional farming methods and good food production are so important. The
Rare Breeds Survival Trust
helps to keep ancient breeds like English Longhorn cattle and Gloucestershire Old Spot pigs alive by creating a market for them. In doing so, it helps preserve an old fashioned way of farming that has considerable benefits for the local economy, conservation and animal welfare.
The incredible endeavours of North Yorkshire’s very own
Calendar Girls
have raised over £1.3M for Leukaemia Research so far. As the Girls say “it could be the next pound that does it”. We’re raising thousands of pounds for them and admire them greatly.
About fifty years ago the author Gerald Durrell founded Jersey Zoo. It was like no other Zoo in the world. The idea was that critically endangered animals were brought there to breed then re-introduce them to their natural habitats. Sounds simple doesn’t it! The legacy of Gerry Durrell lives on to this day and the
Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust
is recognised throughout the world for their vital work in stopping many animal species from simply vanishing from the face of the earth.
